Rogue Zombie UPDATE 2 (Performance Update) - Released !!!


HI friend!

Today I was able to release update 2 for Rogue Zombie.

The big focus on this update was performance, especially mesh and VFX performance.

What was completed was:

  • Added logic to turn off collisions and physics on enemies when too far away from the player
  • Added logic to Teleport enemy back to their spawn point instead of destroying the enemy for better memory management. – As a result, we can have so many more enemies on screen SO EXPECT MORE ENEMIES NOW! (This will probably need rebalanced in a future update).
  • Updated CITY MAP to have some more walkway and routes around the maps
  • Changed HP on enemy 2 to only have 2 HP instead of 10 because it was confusing why some enemies weren’t dying.
  • Decreased particle count in the bullet effect and weapon pickup for improved performance.
  • Added Enemy kill counter to HUD
  • Changed scatter rubbish meshes collision to disabled
